Payrolling:
In many situations, it may be advantageous to place a prospective new hire on PSU’s payroll in lieu of making a direct hire. Some typical situations include: probationary hires, hiring freezes, summer students, retirees, short-term projects, and other unique situations. Since PSU does not incur all of the recruiting, screening and selection costs, standard rates are reduced significantly. Unlike many staffing companies, PSU does not exclude payrolled employees from any benefits. Additionally, PSU not only assumes all the administrative burdens but also becomes the Employer of Record for Workers’ Compensation and SUI. Drug Testing, Criminal Background Checks and DMV Reports:
PSU processes thousands of drug tests and background checks every year. Due to our volume, we are able to obtain very attractive pricing and quick turnaround times. Each PSU office is a Certified Collection Facility for urinalysis by Keystone Laboratories. Strict collection and Chain of Custody guidelines must be followed in order to ensure the legal defensibility of test results. In most cases, drug screen results are available the same day. Background checks are usually completed within 24 hours. Skill Evaluations for Office/Administrative Candidates:
PSU utilizes a computer-based skills evaluation system that determines computer proficiencies in the following areas: Typing, data entry, basic math, Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, WordPerfect, and many other popular business software applications. Self-paced tutorials are also available for prospective and current employees. PSU can make sure your candidate has the skills they claim. By making sure the candidate is proficient in the software applications used by your company, you can avoid a poor hiring decision and save your company valuable training time.
