Job Seekers FAQ

How quickly could I start to work?

Job availability changes on a daily basis. Once our application process is complete and you meet our hiring criteria, you will be offered appropriate positions based on your preferences and skills. If your skills match one our current openings, you could be working in the next day or two!

Please describe your application process.

We’ve tried to make the application process as simple as possible. You can easily apply online for all posted positions in the search jobs section of this site. If you don’t have a computer, you’re welcome to come to our office and use ours.

After the application is complete, it will be reviewed to determine if you will interview with a staffing specialist. In the interview, you will have the opportunity to discuss your skills, experience, work style, availability and what you are looking for in your next position.

PSU will then verify references, perform a drug test and background check based on our client’s hiring criteria. You will then be offered positions based on all the factors of your interview process.

How often should I contact your office after an interview?

We will personally contact you as we uncover positions that match your skills and interests. You are not required to call in, however do let us know if your contact information changes.

Can I refuse a position offered?

Not every job is going to meet the expectations you have.  If you are not interested in a position, you are free to decline.  We will continue to offer positions to you based on your skills, availability and preferences. Please be aware that if you are drawing unemployment, refusing jobs could effect the continuation of benefits.

Can I quit an assignment once I have started?

We realize that not every job is a good fit for you; sometimes you do not know that until you have tried the position.  If you are on an assignment and find it is not going to work for you, we ask that you contact us immediately.  You are required to stay at an assignment long enough for us to find a replacement, or a minimum of two (2) days, but we will attempt to remedy the situation as quickly as possible.  As with any interaction, communication is key.  We expect open communication from you and you can expect the same from PSU office.

Is there a fee for your services?

We are an Employer-Fee Paid Company. Our services are provided at no fee to you.

How can I stay informed about open positions?
